Zu Weihnachten habe ich von meiner Klari das Buch „I am that Girl“ bekommen – ein Buch, das seit 1 Jahr auf meiner Leseliste steht. Ich glaube, das Buch hat schon so vielen jungen Frauen geholfen, zu sich selbst zu stehen, zu ihrer Leidenschaft zu finden und glücklich mit sich selbst und dem Leben zu sein. Es versprüht pure Girlpower und ist schon fast eine Bibel oder der heilige Gral für alle Frauen.
Ich bin selbst wirklich weit entfernt von dem Bild einer typischen Feministin. Jedes Wort zu gendern um Frauen nicht zu „benachteiligen“ finde ich genauso übertrieben wie die Diskussion um die Ampelmännchen (und Frauchen ;)). Aber: Frauenpower schreibe ich trotzdem ganz groß!
Viel zu oft gibt es Missgunst und Neid zwischen Frauen, es wird viel gelästert und ich glaube es fällt einigen einfach schwer, sich für andere zu freuen. Aber warum? Wer sagt, dass wir nicht alle erfolgreich sein können?

„I am that Girl“ von Alexis Jones handelt nicht nur vom Zusammenhalt zwischen Frauen, sondern auch von eigener Stärke, Selbstliebe, Akzeptanz und Mut – genau den Dingen, die die Powergirls und ich euch immer vermitteln wollen. Während dem Lesen habe ich manchmal das Gefühl, es sei genau für uns gemacht und ich glaube, genau das macht es so besonders. Alexis Jones bringt es so auf den Punkt mit dem, was sie sagt, sodass jede Frau davon profitieren kann und es schafft, innerlich zu wachsen. Das Buch gibt einem so ein gutes Gefühl und motiviert einen, mehr aus sich zu machen.
Direkt am Beginn des Buches findet man das I am that Girl Manifesto, das ich an dieser Stelle gerne mit euch teilen möchte. Man hat das Bedürfnis, seine Hand auf das Buch zu legen und es laut auszusprechen, während man es liest, das sag ich euch 😉 Diese zwei Seiten im Buch sind so ausdrucksstark und ich finde, man kann es sich immer wieder durchlesen und sich denken: YES! That’s it!

Ich habe erst ein Drittel des Buches gelesen, aber ich kann es euch nur ans Herz legen! Es ist das perfekte Geschenk für eure beste Freundin, eure Mama oder an euch selbst. Ich könnte euch noch stundenlang von dem Buch erzählen, aber ich habe das Gefühl, das Manifesto spricht für sich. Ich habe schon vor einiger Zeit eine ähnliche Einstellung übernommen (stark beeinflusst durch meine Powergirls Klara und Diana) und das Buch bringt mich noch mal einen Schritt weiter nach vorne. Einige meiner Gedanken zu dem Thema könnt ihr auch in meinem Beitrag Aus dem Tagebuch einer Perfektionistin lesen. Ich habe es in den letzten 1,5 Jahren geschafft, mich zu akzeptieren, stärker zu werden, glücklicher und zufriedener zu sein und für mich haben sich dadurch so viele neue Möglichkeiten ergeben. Obwohl ich immer ein relativ selbstbewusster Mensch war, konnte ich mich auch in dieser Hinsicht noch so viel weiterentwickeln und möchte euch das selbe mitgeben.

Wow, kannst du das Buch vielleicht nach Wien mitnehmen? Klingt absolut klasse! Ich erinnere mich auch noch, es bei Klara auf Instagram vor Ewigkeiten gesehen zu haben aber der Trailer macht das ganze noch viel faszinierender.

Super schöner Blogeintrag! 🙂 Ich werd mir das Buch auf jeden Fall merken. Den kleinen Absatz über Neid und Missgunst zwischen Frauen finde ich auch sehr gut, dass man sich viel lieber gegenseitig unterstützen sollte. Das Video hat bei mir auch irgendwie nochmal klar gemacht, dass wir eigentlich sowieso alle so ziemlich das selbe wollen, nämlich unter anderem akzeptiert werden. Deswegen find ich es auch umso wichtiger anderen Mädels ernst gemeinte Komplimente zu machen oder sie auch nur auf der Straße anzulächeln, anstatt die ganze Zeit auf den Boden oder ins Handy zu starren. Ich weiß nicht ob das noch jemand kennt, aber manchmal fühlt man sich da so verstanden 😀 Am besten ist es, wenn man hört, dass andere Mädchen die selben Probleme haben wie man selbst, obwohl man dachte man ist die einzige 😉 #girlpower
